Resultat från IMSA Weathertech Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring som gick av stapeln den 14-17 mars.

Ett väldigt jämnt kval där bil #67 kvalade in på en 4:e plats och bil #66 på en 5:e plats.
12 timmars racet blev händelserikt, till första depåstoppet hade man tagit sig upp till en 2:a och 3:e plats, man gick in i depån samtidigt och bil #66 lyckades komma iväg bråkdelen snabbare än bil #67. De råkade stöta ihop lite men kunde fortsätta utan problem.
Lyckan var dock kortvarig (i 12 timmars-race mätt) då det blev lite trångt efter attt man startade efter en gulflaggsperiod och bil #66 fick göra ett depåstopp till efter en punktering och man passade på att byta främre spoilern och bakre vingen som hade blivit skadade i sammanstötningen vid omstarten (inte ofta man får se någon gå lös med en slägga på en Ford GT). Man slutade till slut på 9:e plats efter det långa depåstoppet, bil #67 hade en bättre dag och slutade på samma plats som man startade på.

Förra veckan kördes Bubba Burger Sportscar Grand Prix på gatorna i Long Beach Kalifornien. En lyckad tillställning med spännande kval och race, gick bra för Ford GT teamet också.

Bil #66 lyckades klämma till med den snabbaste tiden under kvalet där alla 8 bilar i GTLM-klassen låg inom 1,4 sekunder. Bil #67 var 0,6 sekunder långsammare och startade på en 6:e plats.

I ett händelserikt lopp, precis som man kan förvänta sig i ett gatlopp, höll sig båda bilarna på banan och gjorde inga misstag. Det hårdaste fighten var mellan teamets båda bilar på en 2:a och 3:e plats och ur den striden gick bil #67 ut ur som segrare till slut. Så en 2:a plats för bil #67 och en 3:e plats för bil #66 blev helgens resultat.

GREATWORTH, U.K., Apr. 30, 2018 – The first ever FIA World Endurance Championship “Super Season” gets underway this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. After completing an intensive winter test programme, the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing team is stronger than ever and ready for what is expected to be the most competitive GTE Pro class battle ever.

Michelin has produced a new tyre for 2018, so much of the test programme has focused on getting the most from the new rubber. Spa will be the first opportunity to see who has done the best job on that front.

“The Super Season is a huge task for the team as it contains two Le Mans 24 Hours and is spread over a long period so we have to make sure we stay focused the whole time,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance Motorsport. “We’re thrilled to have been invited to run four Ford GTs at Le Mans again this summer and we will do everything in our power to make sure all four GTs ‘Go Like Hell’. Our target is to win at Le Mans, both times, and to win the championships in both WEC and IMSA. We’ve started well in IMSA where we are running first in the GTLM driver, team and manufacturer’s championships. We’re aiming high!”

Ford will face stiff competition from Ferrari, BMW, Aston Martin and Porsche during the WEC Super Season, with Corvette joining the fight at Le Mans. When the level of competition is as high as it is in GTE Pro you need a team of exceptional drivers, and Ford is delighted to retain Stefan Mücke (GER) and Olivier Pla (FRA) in the #66 GT and Andy Priaulx (GB) and Harry Tincknell (GB) in the #67. Joining them for Spa and Le Mans are team regular Billy Johnson (US) in #66 and Indycar superstar Tony Kanaan (BRA) in the #67 GT.

“I’m really looking forward to Spa and the start of the Super Season,” Mücke said. “We’re excited to start this special season that has two Le Mans 24 Hours in the schedule. We have new competition coming with new cars and a very big GTE Pro field for Le Mans. It’s going to be a tough season with tough racing but that’s exactly what we want. We know the Ford GT well now; every bolt and every detail. We’ve been very busy over the winter especially with tyre testing and making sure every detail of the car is perfect. I think we are stronger than ever, better prepared than ever, and that’s why I think we have a very good chance this year.”

The Ford Chip Ganassi Racing team has had a busy winter, running through a detailed test programme to make sure everything is ready for Spa. This has included many pit stop drills for the team as the rules governing pit stops have been updated for 2018. Teams are now permitted to change tyres at the same time as refuelling the cars, which will make the stops faster and provide more excitement in the pits.

After coming tantalisingly close to winning his first world championship in 2017, Harry Tincknell has his eyes on the prize.

“I think this season is our best chance of winning the championship,” Tincknell said. “The circuits we go to all suit the Ford GT and the slow speed tracks have all been removed from the schedule. Teaming up again with Andy and keeping our core crew together is great for continuity and I think we’ve taken another step forward over the winter. We’ve won four races together and had a second at Le Mans, so clearly the partnership is working and we will look for a strong start at Spa. We will have Tony with us at the start of the season too, and we all know what an incredible competitor he is. We were right in contention in second place last year at Spa before an electrical issue dropped us down a lap, but testing there went really well this month and I’m really hopeful to get the championship off to flying start.”

The 6 Hours of Spa gets underway on Saturday, May 5 at 13:30 CET.

Förra helgen var det fullt upp på tävlingsbanorna för Ford GT när man tävlade i USA och Belgien.

Man körde på Mid Ohio-banan där bil #66 kördes av Joey Hand och Dirk Müller och bil #67 av Ryan Briscoe och Richard Westbrook.

Ett tufft och jämt kval där hela GTLM-fältet var inom 0,6s av varandra slutade bil #66 på en 6:e plats och bil #67 på en 7:e.



Racet som varade i 2 timmar och 40 minuter fortlöpte utan några större incidenter och båda bilarna lyckades klättra 2 placeringar till slut.



WEC
På Spa Francorchamp i Belgien kördes bil #66 av Stefan Mücke, Olivier Pla och Billy Johnson och bil #67 av Andy Priaulx, Harry Tincknell och Tony Kanaan.

Ett kanonkval för teamet där bil #67 hamnade på 1:a plats och bil #66 på en 2:a.

Resultatet i racet var dock lite mer varierande då bil #67 råkade ut för en otäck olycka efter drygt 1 timme. Tincknell gick av strax efter Eau Rouge rätt in i skyddsmuren men kunde turligt nog kliva ur för egen maskin utan några skador, han utsattes för 29G vid krocken.
Bil #66 hade också ett händelsrikt race men slutade till slut på 1:a plats!

DEARBORN, Mich., June 5, 2018 – When the 2018 Le Mans 24 Hours gets underway next week (June 16-17) the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing team will face its greatest challenge yet. The class in which the Ford GTs compete at Le Mans – ‘GTE Pro’ – now boasts 17 of the world’s best GT cars and 51 of the world’s fastest racing drivers, making it the fiercest contest the team has faced so far.

Now in the third year of its successful Ford GT race programme, which has seen Ford Chip Ganassi Racing win at Le Mans in 2016 and finish as runner-up in 2017, the team is ready to take on all challengers.

“It’s rewarding to see all four cars come together as one team every year at Le Mans,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director of Ford Performance Motorsport. “It shows the scale of the global effort we launched in 2016 and have been building on since.

“Le Mans is always the ultimate challenge but this year it has gone up a level through the sheer size of the opposition. We’re going up against the best that Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, Corvette and BMW have to offer and we can’t wait. This is why we race.”

The Le Mans 24 Hours is always a highlight in Chip Ganassi’s racing calendar and he too is fully committed to shooting for another Ford victory in 2018.

“The Le Mans 24 Hours is one of those races that you have circled on the calendar,” Ganassi said. “It has everything. It’s on an historic track in France, it is an endurance race and it is one of the most spectacular events in the world. When you win a race like Le Mans, you know you have accomplished something. It is multiple drivers, crew members and the right manufacturer all coming together. I can’t wait to get back there to compete for another win.”

The #66 Ford GT crew of Stefan Mücke (GER), Olivier Pla (FRA) and Billy Johnson (USA) took their first victory in the opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Spa in Belgium last month. Le Mans has been hard on them over the last two years so they hope the Spa win signals a change in their fortunes.

In the #67 Ford GT, Indycar star Tony Kanaan (BRA) joins last year’s runners-up, Andy Priaulx (GB) and Harry Tincknell (GB), and they all have their eye on the top step of the podium.

Already podium finishers in 2018, the drivers of the #68 Ford GT are the history-makers: the crew that took Ford’s first modern-day Le Mans win in 2016. Joey Hand (USA), Sébastien Bourdais (FRA) and Dirk Müller (GER) would love to do the double.

The drivers of the #69 Ford GT got their 2018 campaign off to the best possible start by winning the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Ryan Briscoe (AUS), Richard Westbrook (GB) and Scott Dixon (NZ) are more than ready for another 24-hour win.

All of the drivers of the Ford GTs know what they have to do at Le Mans. Here they reflect on the past two Le Mans and talk about their aspirations for the 2018 race.

#66 FORD GT: “The more you do it, the better you get at it!” (Olivier Pla)

The first year at Le Mans with Ford was tough for us in the #66 GT as we lost two laps in the pits, changing the light panel on the door,” said Olivier Pla. “We were on the same pace as the other Fords so for sure we missed out on a podium there. Year two was looking really good until around 1 a.m. when we had a rear suspension failure that sent me off at Indianapolis. That cost us around seven laps and that was that!

“Our goal for year three is the same as ever: we want to win! The GTE Pro field has never been so competitive so it would be incredible to win this year. We are a strong team with a strong car and good driving crews. Now we just need to make sure everything is perfect and that the luck goes our way. The more you do it, the better you get at it!”

#67 FORD GT: “You learn something new every time you do Le Mans.” (Andy Priaulx)

“The first Le Mans with Ford in 2016 was tough for us as we had a gearbox problem on the grid so our race was almost done before it started,” said Andy Priaulx. “The second one was great for us though, as we had a really good run and a bit of good fortune on the last lap, taking second place.

“This year’s race looks like it will be the toughest yet, but to win under circumstances like that is amazing. I’d love to stand on the top step at Le Mans; I’ve had a third and a second there and a few years ago I led the race for 23 of the 24 hours! There are another 16 GTE Pro cars, each with three drivers who are all saying the same thing, so it’s going to be a thriller! You learn something new every time you do Le Mans. It’s one of those events that you have to work out. This will be my fifth and every year it’s gets better as you have more experience, but it doesn't get any easier!”

“The first year stands out for me because we won. Ford has this incredible history at Le Mans and now we are part of it. We were able to write our own piece and lock ourselves down in the history books and, for me, that’s pretty cool. As I get older and I’m not driving any more, that’s something that’ll always be there. We weren’t able to race for the win last year so we want to do it this year. You never know how many times you’re going to race at Le Mans so you have to take advantage of every opportunity.

“Every year we get better and better as a team and as you get comfortable, you do better. We know more about this race now, from where we stay, the routine we have, knowing where everything is, knowing how scrutineering works. The more comfortable you are, the less you’re wondering what’s happening next. I’ve always said I think comfort produces results. Everything comes together to produce a result.”

#69 FORD GT: “I think Le Mans will always throw something at you that you’ve never seen before.” (Ryan Briscoe)

“Year one was incredible for us. We had a really strong race with a rookie team performing like absolute champions. To finish with two of our cars on the podium was surreal. I remember the second year we just didn’t have the performance to win the race, so now we want to win! We set the standards pretty high in year one so anything less isn’t a goal anymore. I think we’re off to a great start, winning the Daytona 24 and finishing second with the #66 car.

“It doesn’t really feel different to go to Le Mans in year three. I think on a personal level you never change your approach, no matter how many times you go. The prep work and everything that goes with it is the same. You can’t relax; you can’t feel like it’s year three and take it easy. I think Le Mans, like any big race, will always throw something at you that you’ve never seen before, and that’s what you have to be ready for. I do think year one was extra special. There was a lot about year one: the anticipation of it, the fact it was the 50-year anniversary since 1966, and Ford’s return for the first time since back in the 1960s, which made year one quite unique.”

First European Customers Receive Their Ford GT Supercars

In April 2016, 6,506 car enthusiasts from around the world applied to purchase one of the first 500 production Ford GT supercars. Now, for one lucky applicant in Scandinavia, the wait is over after receiving the keys to one of the very first Ford GTs to be delivered to a customer in Europe.

Jason Watt, a racing driver from Denmark, is now the owner of a new 347 km/h (216 mph) supercar. In race car form the Ford GT was designed to take on the Le Mans 24 Hours and win, a feat it achieved at the first attempt in 2016. In road form, the Ford GT uses a carbon fibre body, 655 PS 3.5‑litre EcoBoost V6 engine and technology including Drive Modes to deliver a road-legal experience that’s as close to a race car as it gets.

Jason’s new Ford GT is the first in his home country of Denmark, and the whole of Scandinavia. And just like the previous generation 2005 Ford GT that he used to own, this Ford GT is being modified so that it can be hand-operated by Jason, who was paralysed from the chest down following a motorcycle accident in 1999. A roof rack will be fitted so that Jason can easily transport his wheelchair.

“My Ford GT is probably the world's fastest car that can park in disabled parking spaces,” said Jason, at the handover event in Copenhagen.

Idag fick vi äran att lämna ut en Ford GT som är en av endast fyra bilar som sålts i Sverige. Totalt ska 1000 bilar tillverkas.

Bilen är i gråmetallic med bland annat inredningsdetaljer i kolfiber. Varje person som fått möjligheten att köpa denna bil har genomgått en flera år lång process från ansökan och besked om att bilen blivit deras till leverans. Och nu har alltså en av bilarna rullat ut till en förväntansfull köpare.

Ford GT application process to re-open late this year

2018 Ford GT '67 Heritage Edition

When Ford introduced the second-generation GT supercar, it took applications from hopeful buyers. The company received some 6,000 applications and approved 500 of them. Then, when the Blue Oval announced it was expanding production for two more years, the company approved another 250 applicants from that initial group. In the fourth quarter of this year, Motor Authority has learned, Ford will reopen the application window for the Ford GT.

Ford fans who applied last time around can do so again and update their previous applications. Others can start fresh. Ford will use the same criteria to choose who will get the privilege to spend $450,000 or more to buy a car, but it will come down to who Ford thinks will be its best brand ambassadors.

Ford isn't reopening the application process to fill slots for buyers who have dropped out. A Ford spokesman told us that a handful of buyers did drop out, but their spots were filled from a waiting list from the first applicants.

One car the next round of buyers might want to choose is the 2019 Heritage Edition, which hasn’t been confirmed yet. Given that the 2017 Heritage Edition was black to honor the No. 2 car driven by Ken Miles and Denny Hulme to win the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 2018 Heritage Edition is red to commemorate the 1967 No. 1 car driven to victory by A.J. Foyt and Dan Gurney, we can venture a guess as to what the 2019 Heritage Edition will be. Look for it to sport the blue and orange Gulf colors and the No. 9 gumball of the car Pedro Rodriguez and Lucien Bianchi put in the winner’s circle in 1968.

It just so happens that the Ford GT40 won Le Mans four years in a row. In fact, Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver won with the same car that won the 1968 race, this time wearing the No. 6. Given that Ford has to build the car into a fourth year to make up for the deficit from the first year, could the Blue Oval consider doing a fourth Heritage Edition? The 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition, which also sports Gulf colors, is the most sought after of the breed. Why not do two Gulf Heritage Editions?

Hand fick se sig slagen av den andra GT:n i kvalet och slutade på en 2:a plats med tiden 1:42,059s, man lyckades bättre i racet och med en bättre strategi tack vare att man kunde spara lite bränsle så fick man kliva upp på högsta steget på podiumet.

Westbrook lyckades kvala in på en 1:a plats med tiden 1:41,948s efter en hård kamp med den andra GT:n, en trasig krängningshämmare fram efter en timme gjorde dock att man förlorade mycket tid under loppet och man slutade till slut på en 6:e plats.

Hand var tvungen att gå i depån efter ett varv under kvalet då man fick problem med vänster hjulupphängning fram vilket gjorde att man fick starta sist på en 8:e plats i GTLM-klassen med tiden 1:14,228s, racet blev tufft och man fick kämpa ända in i mål vilket resulterade i en 5:e plats till slut.

Briscoe fick till en tid på 1:13,831s i kvalet vilket räckte till en 2:a plats, under loppet såg det ganska mörkt ut länge men ett perfekt tajmat depåstopp vid en gulflagga såg till att man kom ut på 1:a plats som man sedan behöll ända in i mål.

En 3:e plats i kvalet med tiden 49,945s ingav förhoppningar till racet om en fin placering, efter det sista depåstoppet låg man 12 sekunder efter ledaren och 13 minuter innan målflagg hade man hunnit ikapp och om för att ta segern.

Med en 5:e plats i kvalet på tiden 50,106s hade bil #67 ett tufft jobb framför sig och med en chansning med racestrategin som inte gick hem blev det en 6:e plats till slut.

Müller lyckades med en 1:a placering i kvalet för 3:e året i rad med tiden 2:02,479s och fick sällskap med den 2:a GT:n på plats 2, i racet ville det sig inte bättre än att ett stag i höger hjulupphängning bak skapade problem för teamet och med ett depåstopp som följd gjorde att man i slutändan slutade på en 7:e plats.

Briscoe gjorde sitt bästa för att slå den 2:a GT:n i kvalet men lyckades inte riktigt och fick nöja sig med en bästa tid på 2:02,650s, i loppet var inte heller bil #67 problemfria då man hade en sammanstötning med en annan bil som orsakade lite skador. Det hindrade dock inte dem från att kämpa sig till en seger i slutändan.

Regn under kvalet såg till att göra körningen extra spännande och man lyckades tyvärr bara med en 6:e plats med tiden 1:57,202s, i loppet lyckades man tjäna ett par placeringar med en bra strategi och slutade på en 4:e plats.

#67 Richard Westbrook och Ryan Briscoe
Westbrook lyckades bäst av alla på den upptorkande banan i kvalet med en 1:55,580s tid, det gick riktigt bra till 1:a depåstoppet då man var i ledning men problem med kopplingen såg till att man rasade ner till en 7:e plats när man tog målflagg.

I IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship ligger bil #67 på en 2:a plats och bil #66 på en 3:e plats, i märkesmästerskapet ligger Ford på en 1:a plats.

Man kvalade in på en 3:e plats med tiden 3:49,191s, tyvärr så var man inblandad i en sammanstötningen under loppet som gjorde att man var tvungen att gå in i depån för reparationer. En 7:e plats i mål blev senare en 6:e plats då bil #67 fick en tidsbestraffning.

#67 Tony Kanaan, Andy Priaulx och Harry Tincknell
Man kvalade in på en 11:e plats med tiden 3:50,429s, under racet hade man lite otur med säkerhetsbilen vid depåstoppen vilket gjorde att man förlorade mycket tid. Man gick i mål på en 4:e plats men fick ett tidstillägg på 11 varv och 1:23,499s då Tony Kanaan inte hade uppfyllt en körtid på minst 6 timmar (5 timmar och 16 minuter) och slutade på en 12:e plats till slut.

Man kvalade in på en 5:e plats med tiden 3:49,582s, under racet hade man lite otur med säkerhetsbilen vid depåstoppen vilket gjorde att man förlorade mycket tid. Det blev dock en riktigt fin 3:e plats och man var mycket nöjd med resultatet.

#69 Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook och Scott Dixon
Man kvalade in på en 7:e plats med tiden 3:49,761s, under loppet låg man på en 6:e plats. Men med 2 timmar kvar av racet så fick man växellådsproblem och rasade ner i resultatlistan. Ett tidstillägg på 2 varv och 1:42,695s drog man på sig efter att Scott Dixon inte uppfyllt en körtid på minst 6 timmar, det spelade ingen större roll i slutändan då man låg kvar på den 14:e plats som man slutade på innan bestraffningen.

Så för 3:e året i rad lyckades man med att få kliva upp på podiumet vid Le Mans 24-timmars.

I kvalet fick Mücke och Pla allt att stämma och man lyckades kvala in på 1:a plats med snitttiden 1:55,727s som bäst, i loppet hade man otur med trafik och säkerhetsbilen som kom ut just efter att man hade varit in i depån. Ett tag låg man dock på 1:a och 2:a plats med de 2 GT-bilarna, ett problem med dörren på bil #66 vid ett depåstopp gjorde dock att man förlorade ett varv och man lyckades bara få en 6:e plats till slut.

#67 Andy Priaulx och Harry Tincknell
Priaulx och Tincknell lyckades inte riktigt lika bra som systerbilen men kvalade in på en 4:e plats med snitttiden 1:56,103s, man drog dock det längsta strået i loppet och kom hem på en 4:e plats som senare blev 3:e efter en diskvalificering.

I FIA World Endurance Championship ligger bil #66 på en 2:a plats och bil #67 på en 12:e plats, i märkesmästerskapet ligger Ford på en 2:a plats.

Nya 2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition firar 50-årsjubileet av 1968:s och 1969:s Le Mans-vinnande Ford GT40 med en begränsad upplaga av Gulf Oils kända färgkombination, som kom att bli ett av racingvärldens absolut kändaste färgscheman.

Den nya 2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition hedrar den legendariska, amerikanska Gulf Oil-sponsrade Ford GT40 genom att erbjuda det mest kända färgschemat inom motorsporten - plus en uppsättning extra exklusiva detaljer.

Känd bland racingentusiaster som chassi nr 1075 var 1968:s GT en av några få bilar som lyckades med konststycket att vinna Le Mans 24-timmars upprepade gånger.

För första gången erbjuder ett nytt tillvalspaket exponerade kolfiberaccenter för både interiör och exteriör på Ford GT Heritage Edition. För 2019 innehåller paketet också ”No. 9”-grafik på huven och dörrarna. För år 2020 är det istället ”No. 6”-grafik.

Heritage Edition har exponerade A-stolpar i kolfiber och unika 20-tums hjul i högglansigt, mörkt rostfritt aluminium med svarta dragmuttrar. Orangea bromsok och silverfärgade backspegels-kåpor kompletterar utseendet.

Det exklusiva materialet Ebony Alcantara omsveper säten, instrumentpanel, pelarna, huvudlinje och ratt. Kontrastande blå och orangea sömmar accentuerar sätena och ratten, med en ny prägling av bilstolarna inspirerade av den ursprungliga Le Mans-vinnande bilen från 1968, samt klara och polerade, anodiserade växel-paddlar.

Precis som tidigare Heritige-modeller har Ford GT Heritage Edition en unik serialiserad identifieringsplatta, samt exponerade matt-kolfifiberdörrar, luftregistreringsskivor och mittkonsol.

Why was a Ford GT caught blasting around the Nürburgring?

Well, well, well. Look what we have here. After Ford vehemently said it has no intentions to chase lap records with the GT supercar, new YouTube video poster by a user going by the name cvdzijden shows the car ripping around the famed Nürburgring. And it's all-but-confirmed this is a corporate owned car—not a private customer.

While we can't confirm this is a factory car, the GT appears identical to all other road-going examples we've seen. Road & Track also astutely pointed out the GT seen in the video is the same car that showed up at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed wearing an identical UK license plate.

Astute observers will note antennae placed atop the car's roof, which could mean Ford does, indeed, intend to clock a lap time. The equipment could be relaying data for a lap-timing device.

The car is also seen testing during what appears to be an industry pool session. The laps bar regular drivers from the course while automakers flog their vehicles around the 12.9-mile circuit. Ford clearly wants the least amount of traffic as possible for a specific reason.

Motor Authority has reached out to Ford for comment, and a spokesman confirmed it's a Ford-owned vehicle. As for what the company is doing there, the spokesman replied slyly, saying. "We test many vehicles around the world but do not discuss details."

If Ford does go for a lap time, we find it hard to believe the GT will take down the newest king of the 'Ring. That is the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. The 6.5-liter V-12 powered supercar clocked an astounding 6:44.97 to dethrone the Porsche 911 GT2 RS last month. The last unofficial time Ford clocked with the GT was a 2:38.62 around Virginia International Raceway. Days later, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 bested the time, clocking a 2:37.25.

Ford ska producera fler Ford GT - efterfrågan högre än väntat


Den 18:e oktober offentliggjorde Ford att man nu utökar produktionen av supersportbilen Ford GT, då efterfrågan vida översteg vad man initialt hade räknat med. Produktionen höjs från 1 000 till 1 350 bilar, där den som är intresserad kan ansöka om att få köpa en bil med start den 1 november och en månad framåt.

När Ford i slutet av 2016 började bygga den första Ford GT i den senaste generationen av företagets berömda supersportbil var det ingen som hade räknat med det överväldigande intresset från köpare runt hela världen.

Från början hade man sagt att 1 000 bilar skulle produceras under fyra år fram till 2020. Nu förlänger man produktionen två år fram till 2022 vilket totalt omfattar ytterligare 350 bilar som ska fördelas till köpare från hela världen.

Ford öppnar därmed upp ansökningsfönstret för bilen den 1 november och en månad framåt, på http://www.fordGT.com.

Hittills för Sverige är fyra Ford GT sålda ur den ursprungliga mängden bilar.
